W.McClure Ltd. - History and Progress

W. McClure Ltd was founded in 1945 by William McClure and quickly became established in the retail food sector, operating from 7 sites in Kendal, Bowness, Windermere and Grange-over-Sands.

In the Early 1960's the business expanded into the Delivered Food Wholesale market.
We were the first Wholesaler to bring Frozen Foods into Cumbria.
We are now at the forefront of the Food Industry in Cumbria.
We can now offer our customers a Complete Catering Service.

J.T. Parsons (Windermere) Ltd.

J.T. Parsons is a subsidiary of W.McClure, based in Kendal.

This Company was formed from the acquisition of two well established fruit and vegetable merchants who had been in business for over 60 years - J. Powell of Kendal and J.T. Parsons have supplied fresh fruit and vegetables and prepared vegetables to its customers for over 10 years.

J.W. Carlisle Ltd.

In January 1999, W.McClure Ltd. acquired J.W. Carlisle Ltd. - another long established food wholesaler based in Kendal. This move helped us widen our portfolio within the region and enabled us to develop our business into new areas of the market.
