On Sunday, the 18th of June, McClure’s Mighty Hiker’s team embarked on an impressive 12.7-mile journey to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Their admirable efforts not only raised over £1,700 but also showcased their determination and commitment. The team, consisting of Keith McClure, Ben Galloway, Graham Gelder, Stephan Jaworski, and Megan Cook, undertook this challenging task with great enthusiasm.
The hikers faced a variety of obstacles along the way. Climbing over 1,410ft in the scorching heat of 26c added an extra level of difficulty to their mission. Their journey commenced at Dalemain House located at the top of Ullswater, and concluded at Jenkins Field, situated at the bottom of the lake. To complete their adventure, they traversed Gowbarrow Fell and descended past Aira Force, experiencing the breathtaking scenery of the area.
The Mighty Hiker’s team showcased their resilience and endurance throughout the endeavour, overcoming physical challenges and pushing themselves to the limit. After a strenuous effort, they completed the 12.7-mile hike in an impressive time of 5 hours, 53 minutes, and 43 seconds.
By participating in this charitable event, the team demonstrated their unwavering support for those affected by cancer. Their commitment to making a difference in the lives of others is truly commendable.
