We know Cumbria is a vibrant and dynamic business hub as well as a beautiful tourist destination so it was wonderful to be one of three Cumbrian businesses invited by Tim Farron MP to represent Westmorland & Lonsdale Constituency at the Cumbrian day held at Portcullis House in Westminster.
A total of eighteen Cumbrian businesses were invited to represent Cumbrian business and produce. It was a privilege to showcase the county’s wares to representatives from across the whole country; as well as catch up with some familiar Cumbrian faces and meet some new ones!
Keith, Matthew and Ben headed to London to highlight some of our best regional produce such as Taste of the Lakes meats, Silver & Green, and local cheeses including some from Appleby Creamery’s range. All proved very popular, as if we had any doubt! Other businesses from the region even included some of our inspirational suppliers Lakes Distillery and Eden Brewery. Prestigious events like this shine a light not only on Cumbria but also on the relationships within the county too.
Ben McClure said ‘McClure’s were very honoured to attend the event. It’s clear there is some excellent Cumbrian produce but sometimes we don’t shout about it enough. Meeting other business leaders and forging new relationships within Cumbria means we can work together to ensure the future of Cumbrian business and produce is stronger than ever’.
